The ability to document Gender Identity in the Demographics tab in Med Access was part of a Service Pack Telus released nationally in August 2023. After extensive provincial consultation it was felt that the content did not meet NL jurisdictional requirements. In September 2023, we asked Telus to roll back this feature in NL and alerted users we would deliver content that meets NL clinical requirements and enhances confidentiality around this potentially sensitive conversation between patient and provider, we have now delivered on this commitment.
